Savoy Boutique Hotel Tallinn wins Trip Advisor Travellers’ Choice Award!

The Savoy Boutique Hotel Tallinn occupies a handsome building dating from the 1890s, which was renovated in 2006. The lobby area beyond the reception desk makes a suitably lavish opening impression, with plush leather armchairs and open fireplace, and a warm, luxurious palette dominated by browns, gold and bronze. A marble staircase with wrought iron railings leads up from the reception to the guestrooms, lit by tall, conical designer wall-lamps, alongside a single lift with an elaborate grille door.

Savoy Boutique Hotel Tallinn Review

Service was outstanding on my visit, the staff friendly, efficient and helpful. The City Wall Chamber in the basement (built, as its name suggests, into remnants of the city’s 14th-century walls) is available for private functions and dining – a small, cosy setting with exposed stone, wooden floor, sofas and long dining table. The hotel also has a meeting and seminar room.

Savoy Boutique Hotel Tallinn Rooms

The Savoy Boutique Hotel Tallinn has 44 rooms. Classic and Superior rooms come with double or twin beds with lightly carved wooden headboards, and bespoke Italian furniture (wooden armchairs, desk and small round table). The wide windowsills are made of Estonian limestone, the curtain rods by local blacksmiths. Rooms are spacious with plenty of natural light. Floors are carpeted (the pattern mirrors the tiled floor at the bottom of the staircase) and the rough-finished, cream-coloured walls decorated with framed old photographs of Tallinn. The marble-clad bathrooms are particularly sumptuous-looking, with areas of small mosaic tiles, large bathtub-shower and elegant counter-top sink basin. The Savoy Suite is larger with a curtained sleeping area and comes with an espresso machine and its own whirlpool bath.

Savoy Boutique Hotel Tallinn Location

Small, exclusive, private and luxurious, Savoy Boutique Hotel Tallinn locates at the very heart of Tallinn – in a place where the city center meets the medieval old town. It is a superb place for people who travel for business as well as for pleasure. The capital city’s most noteworthy business, entertainment and shopping centres are all nearby, within a short walking distance. The Savoy Boutique Hotel Tallinn offers a perfect location within a 5-minute walk of Town Hall Square. Savoy Boutique Hotel is set close to a gallery, a museum and a theatre as well as Tallinn Old Town, which is 200 meters away.

Tallinn Christmas Market

Following tradition, the Tallinn Christmas Market will open its stage and sales kiosks this year in order to make it possible for us to enjoy the Christmas spirited fairy tale land as long as possible. In the Town Hall Square, there is already erected a fluffy Christmas tree, the symbol of Christmas, which for the first time in the world was erected right here in 1441. The Tallinn Christmas Market delights everyone with its cosiness, historical location, half a century old buildings and long traditions. In recent years, the Tallinn Christmas Market has become increasingly visible in the foreign media; it is has a number of times been elected as one of the best in the tens of thousands of Christmas markets.

This year, the glances are captured with the heart-shaped ornaments on the Christmas tree towering in the centre of the Raekoja Square and on the stage. Heart-shaped decorations were chosen to decorate the Christmas Market for a number of reasons – the heart is a symbol of love, and Christmas is probably one of the most heartfelt holidays in general. But also Tallinn Old Town, the venue of Tallinn Christmas Marketplace, is heart-shaped when viewed from the air, and the City Centre advertises itself as the heart of the city!

Every year, more than half a million people, guests, and inquisitive people visit the Tallinn Christmas Market from close by and from far away. For children, entertainment is provided by carousels and Santa Claus, who distributes candy in his little house to those who are better at reciting verses. At the site, you can buy high-quality handicrafts from all sorts of nick-nacks to practical winter accessories, and you can fill your tummy with gingerbread and with hearty Christmas roasts. Among the refreshments are well known Christmas dishes, but also brand new ones that are perfect for Christmas time. Over the Town Hall Square drifts a spicy scent of mulled wine – this hot Christmas drink is served in a very broad assortment, with different flavours, both for children and adults.

The Christmas spirit is held up, as always, by a special cultural program. At the weekends, different groups from both Estonia and abroad appear on the stage of the Christmas Market, with around 3000 performers appearing on the stage. During the Advent period, an Advent candle is lit every Sunday, church leaders and city leaders greet the people. A spirited special program is planned for the New Year’s Eve!

Please note: Tallinn Christmas Market is open from 15th November – 6th January

There are so many reasons to jet off this winter, from picking up one-of-a-kind stocking fillers to getting into the Christmas spirit early with impressive decorations creating an enchanting atmosphere and taking some time out to tick off those iconic city sights. But don’t delay, book your festive break early and secure our best deals before they sell out.
